About

Music has been hailed as “the universal language of mankind.”

Young people need the future to be there for them. They need to be active in the present so that their future is bright.

While all the aspects of life today are lacking youth participation, not due to their fault, but because society needs to be more efficient in including young people: climate action, employment and economy, health and wellbeing and so on, one aspect is heavily missing in our strategies and has been even recently proven as crucial: youth participation in peacebuilding.

Peacebuilding must be as active during wartime as it is during peace. Young people are exposed to war rhetoric and the dangers of war all over Europe. Young Ukrainians are faced with war directly, their lives have been abducted by something they never asked for or wanted. They need hope and a platform to send messages of peace.

Youth all over Europe face the dangers of radicalisation, and hate speech, they are not asked for opinion but are served scary information with no platform to conduct peacebuilding. The EU Youth Strategy focuses on 3 words: Engage, Connect, and Empower.

YOUTH AS PEACEMAKERS

Undoubtedly, there is a need to generate a culture of peace and a conflict-free environment, particularly among the youth.

The youth, of our communities, are key agents of peacebuilding, especially those who have experienced conflict first-hand. These young people have key roles to play in peace processes since they have a clear vision of what peace could look like in their countries and communities and have the drive to work towards the realisation of these goals.

Within the MYPEACE project we will develop educational resources to support our project aim; by providing an innovative, forward-looking education approach to youth educators, enabling them to be the carriers of peacebuilding education including the youth.

We will achieve our goals through the creation of the below materials:

Development of a Music for YOUTH – a peace building approach roadmap.

This roadmap will empower and motivate youth and peacebuilding stakeholders to engage young people in peacebuilding processes.

Recording of the MY PEACE Music Production

The Music Production will create 10 tangible peacebuilding music sessions/ productions of diverse cultural song interpretations ensuring youth participation.

Creation of a Peacebuilding through music Content Portal

A digital portal which will house custom content to support multimedia education on peacebuilding. It will also allow peer to peer engagement through interactive elements.
