Highlighting Skills and Experiences: MY PEACE Youth Receive Their Youthpass

After taking part in the MY PEACE music workshops, the young participants were awarded a Youthpass certificate — a European tool that recognizes and celebrates what they’ve learned outside of formal education.

But what exactly is Youthpass?

Youthpass is a European recognition tool for non-formal and informal learning within Erasmus+ youth programmes. It helps young people become aware of their learning outcomes, describe them clearly, and showcase them in future educational or professional contexts.

Each Youthpass issued as part of the MY PEACE project certifies the participant’s involvement in creative sessions focused on music as a means of peacebuilding. The project uses music — a universal language and a strong expression of cultural identity — to encourage empathy, dialogue, and cooperation among young people from diverse backgrounds.

Each participants, developed through these workshops:

  • Cultural and artistic skills (writing and performing musical texts),
  • Social and personal skills (collaborating in groups, taking feedback, continuous improvement),
  • Language and communication skills (expressing ideas, active listening, and constructive dialogue).

The purpose of Youthpass is twofold:

  1. To highlight the competencies gained through non-formal education,
  2. To encourage personal reflection on learning and growth.

The distribution of Youthpass certificates is a way to celebrate each participant’s journey within a collective project and to emphasize the educational value of creative and community-based experiences like MY PEACE.
