MyPEACE: Using Music to Inspire a New Generation of Peacebuilders

In today’s world, the need for innovative approaches to peacebuilding has never been greater. MyPEACE, an Erasmus+ initiative, recognises this urgency and seeks to empower young people across Europe to lead peacebuilding efforts through the transformative power of music.

Understanding the Objectives of MyPEACE
The MyPEACE project is designed around three primary objectives:

1. Engaging Youth Through Music: By using music as a medium, the project fosters creativity and collaboration among young people. These activities not only build musical skills but also encourage empathy and teamwork.
2. Equipping Educators: MyPEACE provides educators with tools and methodologies to integrate music into their peacebuilding efforts. This includes resources like the upcoming "Music for Youth – A Peacebuilding Approach Roadmap."
3. Promoting Intercultural Dialogue: The project creates opportunities for youth from diverse cultural and social backgrounds to come together, fostering understanding and breaking down barriers.

Why Focus on Youth?
Europe’s youth are uniquely positioned to lead change. Representing a generation that values inclusion and innovation, young people are essential to building a future rooted in peace. However, many face challenges such as social exclusion, lack of opportunities, and the residual impacts of historical conflicts.
