Harmony 4 All: Opening Doors to Music and to Peace

At MyPEACE, we believe that music can inspire empathy, dialogue and understanding among young people. Harmony 4 All, a youth-led non-profit based in New York, shares this belief and puts it into daily practice by making music education accessible to everyone. Their work perfectly complements our mission to use music as a tool for peacebuilding.

Who Are Harmony 4 All

Harmony 4 All works to remove the barriers that prevent young people from learning and enjoying music. They provide free instrument rentals and repairs, create curriculum resources for teachers, and run free workshops, wellbeing sessions and community concerts. By developing school and community partnerships, they ensure that young people, particularly those in underfunded areas, can take part in meaningful and creative activities.

Their guiding values of Excellence in Access, Harmony in Community and Creativity with Purpose align closely with the MyPEACE ethos to engage, connect and empower young people to act as peacemakers through music.

Shared Vision and Ethos

The MyPEACE project equips educators and youth workers with tools to use music as a medium for peace. Through the MyPEACE Roadmap, our Music Production series and the digital Content Portal, we encourage young people to express their ideas and emotions while learning about empathy, inclusion and cooperation.

Harmony 4 All naturally strengthens these aims.

Engage: Their concerts and workshops attract young people who may never have had access to formal music lessons.

Connect: Community performances bring together people from different backgrounds, encouraging dialogue and shared experience.

Empower: By offering instruments, mentorship and leadership opportunities, they show young people that their voices and creativity matter.

How to Get Involved

Add a Peace Element: Include a short reflection or creative peace task in your next music session.

Connect Locally: Partner with a youth centre, school or community group to host a small concert with a peace theme.

Support Access: Explore ways to replicate Harmony 4 All’s instrument loan or repair model in your community.

Share Your Work: Upload resources, videos or outcomes to the MyPEACE Content Portal so others can build on your success.

A Shared Message

Harmony 4 All believes that music should be accessible to every child. MyPEACE believes that every young person can be a peacemaker. Together, access and purpose can create powerful change, from the first music lesson to the first public message for peace.

Through collaboration, these two initiatives show how creative education can build stronger, more connected communities, one song at a time.
