For over two decades, Momentum has been at the forefront of educational innovation in Ireland and across Europe. Established in Leitrim, a border county in the early days of the Northern Ireland peace process and the Good Friday Agreement, they have nurtured over 50 partnerships with youth organisations, higher education institutions (HEIs) and vocational education and training (VET) providers, they work on a range of projects. These projects tackle issues including education exclusion and lack of opportunities, culture as a change agent, low-barrier entrepreneurship, social justice, sustainability, and extremist narratives. As practitioners, Momentum functions at the intersection of research, inclusion, diversity innovation, and education. Each year, they equip over six hundred learners through their sought-after classroom training courses and thousands of others through Momentum’s blended learning and online courses.
Each project that Momentum works on can draw from the breadth of experience and expertise of the entire Momentum team. They strive to establish best practices in promoting diversity, equality, inclusion and belonging. They also deliver high-impact dissemination and quality evaluation services to multiple European projects.
Denise Callan is leading the Momentum team for MY PEACE. A graduate of History and English Literature with a lifelong interest in music, she has performed in choirs and musical theatre since her teens. She has also managed a cultural centre and worked on several music and Arts Festivals. Denise has also worked on EU projects focused on culture and conflict, so she brings her experience from those projects to MY PEACE.
Speaking about Momentum’s role in MY PEACE, Denise shares, “We are delighted to be part of this ambitious Erasmus+ project, collaborating with a network of partners from France, Germany, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ukraine and Denmark. It promises to deliver value resources to support young people and provide practical tools towards peacebuilding. The magic of this project lies in the collective expertise of the project partners, bringing different specialities and fields across Europe, enhancing the richness and diversity of our collaboration.”
